BWS FESTIVAL • BE UNFORGETTABLE
Black Wall Street Festival celebrates New Haven’s Black and Brown entrepreneurs, creatives, and community builders. For its fifth year, I led creative direction and design for an identity spanning digital communications and the live festival experience.
The festival’s energy needed to be felt before people arrived. How could the identity build anticipation online and carry that same sense of pride, creativity, and community into the streets?
Use “Be Unforgettable” as the organizing idea for an identity built around visibility and self-expression. Bold typography, vivid red gradients, and handwritten gestures created a visual language that could command attention on screen and take on an architectural scale across entrances, stages, and festival signage.
A connected festival identity expressed across the website, campaign creative, and more than 200 signs. Over 250 assets supported an experience that brought together 15,000 attendees and 407 vendors.
